I'm Back....

This weekend was awesome the battles were great, and I had a great time at the ball ;D anyway I met a few new friends and played a civil war game of baseball (I didn't bat but that's just kuz it would be a waist of time considering that I know nothing about batting) it was a fantastic event I got to where my new dress and hoop plus and my little siblings had a good time. This was definitely the best event I've been to this year!

Our youth group canoe trip!!!!

Okay so yesterday me and my youth group went on a canoe trip ( it was more like a kayak trip) anyway it was like a 2 an a 1/2 hour trip into Iowa and then when we got there we went to church with another youth group and after that we ate lunch and then went out on the river ( I don't remember which one) we had 13 kayaks and 5 canoes, so we were going to see who could go the longest without tipping over....... Five minutes in the kid who was in front flipped. After that we went down stream for a hour or so and then stopped at a sand bar and everyone got out and we had a mud fight then went for a swim ( in jeans and T's it was a blast) the river current was so strong that when we stood up we fell over in two foot deep water. Then after about a half an hour we started out again and not even five minutes after that I ran into a tree... And then floated down stream until I could catch my kayak. We counted how many people tipped over and got a total of five ( all in kayaks) and had a ton of fun. Well we eventually came to the end of the river and walked back to the church as a way of drying off and laughed about all the silly things we did. Then after dinner we played basketball, and volleyball, then we had youth group we sang some songs, listened to some testimonies. And talked about how life is like a river, and it is in so many ways, like the current we couldn't walk against it or turn around, and how in life sometimes we wish that we could turn back time and we can't we have to keep going. Or the two different paths we can take the wide path leading to destruction or the narrow path leading to heaven, at the end of that river we had two paths one that was as wide as the river itself and turned into a waterfall or one that was off to the side and was very narrow that lead to land. We had a great time and learned so much from the experience. Of coarse we lost a few things and are now sore but it was worth it.

The Scars of Life...

This is a neat story, I got it in an e-mail from a friend and can relate to it very well in so many ways.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord" plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.
The Scars of Life
Some years ago, on a hot summer day in south Florida, a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hold behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind his shoes, socks and shirt as he went. He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore. His father working in the yard saw the two as they got closer and closer together. In utter fear, he ran toward the water, yelling to his son as loudly as he could. Hearing his voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his father. It was too late. Just as he reached his father, the alligator reached him. From the dock, the father grabbed his little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the father, but the father was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened to drive by,heard his screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator. Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal. And, on his arms, were deep scratches where his father's fingernails dug into his flesh in his effort to hang on to the son he loved. The newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, "But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Dad wouldn't let go. "You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No,not from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret. But, some wounds, my friend, are because God has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, He's been there holding on to you. The Scripture teaches that God loves you. You are a child of God. He wants to protect you and provide for you in every way But sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations, not knowing what lies ahead. The swimming hole of life is filled with peril - and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack. That's when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have the scars of His love on your arms, be very, very grateful. He did not and will not ever let you go. Never Judge another persons scars, because you don't know how they got them.

Canceled Event.....And more......

I have been informed that our labor day event has been canceled. I am kinda disappointed kuz this is one of my favorite events, but no one in our unit can make it but my brother and I, and that can't be helped (plus one gun firing a vollie may sound kinda silly). So that leaves us to the coolest reenactment of the year PAWNEE CITY.... I can't wait.....(but I will kuz I've gotta get my hoop and new dress still) :D so any way the reenacting season for us this year is almost over and that is kinda sad..... But then again next years events are going to be great to.
Well besides that I started school today......That was fun, went through some clothes I got last week from my second cousins in NY, went for a walk.....Which was nice, and played with tink. Other than that nothing much going on...

Sports.....

Sunday night our youth group at church was going to go swimming, and ended up canceling so we played volleyball, and everyone wanted me to play. I told them that I really stunk at volleyball but they said that they didn't care. So I go out there and the first thing I did was get the ball stuck in a tree, then I got hit in the face and yet everyone said that I did good. I told them that I was not at all being modest when I say that I am no good, so we played and my team lost (go figure) and I came home with tons of bruises, but we all had a great time . And we ended the night with everyone laughing ( mainly at our youth leader) and making shure everyone knew everyone else. I told them that I rather basketball or softball even soccer on occasion, kuz I really look silly when playing volleyball but nobody cared about how silly I looked or how bad I played we just had a great time, I think that's what makes sports so much fun...... anyway it's late and I'v got a long day tomarrow.... so c ya'll latter.....
